Crystal Gayle Thanks Fans For “Love And Support” Following Loretta Lynn’s Death

Country music icon Loretta Lynn died on October 4 at the age of 90. Her family released the following statement to share the sad news:

“‘Our precious mom, Loretta Lynn, passed away peacefully this morning, October 4th, in her sleep at home at her beloved ranch in Hurricane Mills.’ The family of Loretta Lynn.

Loretta’s younger sister, Crystal Gayle, shared a heartbreaking tribute to Loretta soon after the news broke. She said, “The world lost a legend. We lost a sister. Love you Loretta.

Crystal has received an overwhelming amount of support in the aftermath of Loretta’s death. She recently shared a short video on social media to thank her fans for keeping her in their thoughts during this difficult time. She said:

I’m in my dressing room at the Opry, and I just want to thank everybody for all their love and prayers you have given the family. My sister Loretta Lynn was wonderful. And reading all the messages, all the memories you have given us has helped us a whole lot. And I want to thank you. We love and miss you Loretta.”

In the caption, Crystal said, “Thank you for all of your love and support,” along with some music note emojis and a red heart emoji.

Crystal joined another one of her and Loretta’s sisters, Peggy Sue Wright, at the CMT Artists of the Year ceremony. Peggy Sue and Crystal performed Loretta’s signature song “Coal Miner’s Daughter” in tribute to her. Watch that performance below.
