Eric Church Performs At The 2025 ACM Awards Just Days After Releasing His New Album, Evangeline Vs. The Machine
The timing of the ACM Awards worked out perfectly for Church. He just released his new album, Evangeline Vs. The Machine, six days prior, on May 2.
The album contains songs such as “Hands of Time,” “Johnny,” and “Darkest Hour.” Church released the latter song in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which destroyed the Southeastern United States in September 2024.
Church signed away all rights and royalties from “Darkest Hour” to his home state of North Carolina, so the song could help fund relief efforts. Since then, Church and his Chief Cares organization have broken ground on the Blue Haven housing development to build new houses for people who lost their homes during Hurricane Helene.

For his appearance at the ACM Awards, Church opted to sing his new song “Hands of Time.” The track is his first single from Evangeline Vs. The Machine.
Church delivered a captivating performance of his brand-new song that had the audience hooked on his every word. He played into the idea of “time” by performing in front of a giant clock setpiece onstage.
There’s no denying that Eric Church created a memorable moment at the 2025 ACM Awards.
