Dancing with the Stars contestants delight with a striking quickstep to the tune of classic American sitcom Green Acres’ theme song. Former Texas Governor Rick Perry returned Monday to the dancing competition show alongside partner Emma Slater to continue his pursuit to raise money for his charity “Advance the Colors.”

While Perry has been struggling to stay out of the bottom two on the show, what he may lack in natural dancing talents he far more than makes up with enthusiasm. In his and Slater’s performance of the sixties sitcom theme song, Perry puts on a performance of the ages that will blast you into the past. The two contestants transform themselves to match the appearances of Green Acres’ icons Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor.

Green Acres had a solid six year run from 1965 to 1971 before being canceled by CBS as part of a “rural purge” of sitcoms from television. The show followed a New York City couple, Eddie and Eva, who experience a drastic change of scenery when they leave the cement jungle of the city and journey into the rural country side.

While the Texan may not be the first politician on DWTS – former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay competed on Season 9 – he certainly is the most high profile. The retired politician and United States Air Force veteran has dedicated his spin on DWTS to the nation’s veterans.
