For days Garth Brooks has been teasing what he called “the biggest announcement in country music.”
During a press conference Thursday, Garth Brooks announced the launch of The Big 615, a global country music radio station.
“What we want to do is we want to take country music global,” Brooks said. “The country music audience [is the] most loving, loyal audience you can ever have. We pull all them together around the world.”
The new radio station takes its name from the Nashville area code and is available to stream for free on TuneIn.
Brooks said The Big 615 will play a variety of artists from every era of country music and even global artists.
“It’s just good, timeless stuff,” Brooks said. “Then there’s also guys that are too young or don’t have the big label support behind them yet. If they’re country, you need to hear them.”
The station is the first of many to be launched by Brooks’ SEVENS Radio Network.
The launch of The Big 615 is the latest venture for Garth Brooks who is gearing up to open his first bar and honky-tonk.
Garth Brooks’ Friend in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk is currently under construction on Nashville’s Lower Broadway. A grand opening date hasn’t been announced, but Brooks promises that it will be “the Chick-fil-a of honky-tonks.”
“It’s a classic honky-tonk,” Brooks told CMT earlier this year. “It’s what I grew up in. It’s a bar along one wall, a bar along the other wall, and the rest is just space to dance or whatever you want to do.”

Brooks shared that he wants his 40,000-square-foot venue to be a “house of love and a house you are safe in.” The establishment will be filled to the brim with country music, good food and lots of love.
“The goal is a classic honky-tonk that welcomes all and encourages love and kindness while playing the greatest music in the world in the home of Country Music!” Brooks said.
Garth Brooks also kicked off his new Las Vegas residency in May.
Garth Brooks/Plus One is a one-man show, of sorts, with surprise guests joining him on occasion. All 2023 dates sold-out during the presale, prompting Garth to add more dates in 2024.
Held at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace, Garth crams more than 30 songs into the 2 1/2-hour show, leaving no doubt in fans’ minds that his record-setting 7 CMA Entertainer of the Year wins were much-deserved.
