The documentary Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me premiered in 2014 and it followed the legendary country singer on his farewell tour after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Three members of Glen’s touring band included his three youngest children with his wife Kim – Cal, Shannon, and Ashley. While filming the documentary, Cal, who is now a member of singer Beck’s band, met Kayla Thornton, who was a producer on the project. The two became good friends, and eventually began dating.
“As one of the producers of our documentary, Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me, Kayla came to know and love my dad, and we became dear friends,” Cal told PEOPLE. “It means a lot to me that she got to experience his ‘Long Goodbye’ with us. I can’t wait for a ‘wifetime’ with my best friend!”
According to PEOPLE, the couple was married in Hawaii with eight guests in attendance including his mom, Kim, her boyfriend, Dr. Russell Sheppel, his sister, Ashley, the bride’s parents, Bodley and Karen Thornton, and longtime friend Stephen Banks.
Ashley shared a photo of the couple on Instagram.

Kim told PEOPLE, “Glen would be proud of Cal’s musical journey as a musician and member of Beck’s band, but more importantly for the godly man he has become and for the woman of valor he has chosen to share his life with. I wore the wedding ring Glen gave me during the wedding and we shared a toast remembering Glen after they were pronounced man and wife.”
