Performing at the Grand Ole Opry means so much to Keith Urban. He was inducted into the the Opry on April 21, 2012 by Trace Adkins and Josh Turner.
“It’s a long way from Caboolture to the stage here at the Grand Ole Opry … and to stand in this circle is the most phenomenal thing,” he said during his induction.
On March 24th, the Grand Ole Opry announced that Urban would be returning to the circle for a show on April 9th.
Unfortunately, on April 8th, the Grand Ole Opry announced that Keith Urban had dropped out of the April 9th show “due to illness.” His appearance was rescheduled to Friday, April 22nd.
Keith himself hasn’t made a statement on the illness, or cancelled appearance. It is unknown what illness has sidelined Urban. He is slated to perform at the CMT Music Awards on Monday, April 11. It is not known if he will be well enough to perform at the awards show.
We will keep you all updated on his illness and his upcoming CMT Music Awards performance! Wishing him a speedy recovery.
