Samantha Moore was freaked the heck out over a massive huntsman spider crawling across her doorframe in her home in Mackay, Australia, and then dashed off to hide behind the internet router box in her kitchen.
“The spider was horrendously scary big,” she told Daily Mail. “A lot of the time we get big ones but nothing like this. This is by far the biggest spider I’ve seen.”
Samantha said she first noticed the spider on Tuesday when she went to flick off a light switch and spotted it on the wall. She then took her phone out to film the creature.
“I popped my head around the corner and behold! This ginormous spider that would have easily been the size of my head,” she said. “It’s massive and was mean, but it’s alive and we didn’t want to kill it.”
In the video, you can hear her squeal as the spider crawls across the wall to hide behind the internet router box.
The spider is easily the size of a human hand and Samantha said she used a large, empty large cookie jar to trap the enormous arachnid.
“Once I caught him he froze so that made the process much easier for my already scared self,” she said.“My partner was on the outside trying to cook our food. We didn’t want to kill it, but it didn’t like us for trying to move it along. It’s still alive and happy. I nicknamed it Aragog. It’s in the garden and we haven’t seen it since.”
