Jason Aldean issued a statement via video the morning after abruptly ending a show due to heat exhaustion.
Jason Aldean was performing at Xfinity Theater in Hartford, Connecticut, Saturday night (July 15) when he fell ill. He was in the middle of singing his 2009 hit “Crazytown” when he rushed off stage off the stage without explanation. Fan video posted to social media shows Jason singing then stopping to turn his face into his arm, appearing to wipe sweat from his face. He turned back to the mic and sang a few more words before rushing off stage. (video below)
A statement posted by the Xfinity Theater noted that Jason Aldean’s team confirmed that he had suffered heat stroke but was doing well.
Jason took to social media the following day to thank fans for checking on him and to share an update.
While he downplayed reports that he suffered heat stroke, saying, “I don’t think it was quite that serious,” he did say that it was “intense.” He added that the incident was “one of those things” likely triggered by dehydration and heat exhaustion.
“Anybody at the show knows how hot it was. I knew it was coming. I was trying to get through as much of the show as I could, and eventually knew it wasn’t going to happen and was trying to just get off stage and figure out what was going on,” Jason told fans in a video posted from his tour bus.
“I had a couple of IVs. I had one last night when I came off stage. I had one today,” Alean said. “I’m feeling a lot lot better.”
Thanks everyone for checking in on me. Hartford, we’ll share rescheduled info soon. Saratoga Springs, see ya tonite!🤘🏼 pic.twitter.com/wVWGAmDmSZ
