In September 2021, Kacey Musgraves released her fifth studio album, Star-Crossed. The album reached the #1 spot on the Hot Country Albums chart and also landed at the third spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
Just days after Star-Crossed was released, Musgraves performed at the Video Music Awards. A day after that, she attended the Met Gala.

This year wasn’t Musgraves’ first time attending the Met Gala. Her Barbie-inspired ensemble at the 2019 Gala was praised as one of the best looks that year.
The look also shocked Musgraves’ fans, since she replaced her signature long, dark hair with a voluminous blond wig.

While Musgraves wore a wig to achieve her 2019 Met Gala look, she has changed up her hair color in more permanent ways. Musgraves has ditched her dark hair in favor of various other colors, including an ashy brown and a lavender hue.

More recently, Musgraves chose to dye her hair another colorful shade before she was photographed for V Magazine. The “camera roll” singer is now rocking bright pink hair.
