Are Keith Urban And Nicole Kidman Moving To Australia?
Several reports published in the past few weeks have claimed that Keith Urban and his wife, actress Nicole Kidman, are moving to Australia. Are the rumors true?
Keith was born in New Zealand in 1967. His family moved to Australia when he was two, and that’s where he grew up. He moved to Nashville in 1992 to chase his country music dreams, and now he’s one of the genre’s biggest stars.
Nicole was born in Hawaii in 1967 to Australian parents who were in America on student visas. Her family eventually returned to Australia, and she grew up in Sydney.
Keith and Nicole actually met at an event honoring Australians in 2005 called G’Day LA. They married in June 2006 and now share two daughters, Sunday and Faith.
The couple experienced a major loss this year, as Nicole’s mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, passed away at the age of 84.
After Janelle died, multiple reports claimed Keith and Nicole were considering moving back to Australia from Nashville. One report reads, “Nicole Kidman and her husband, Keith Urban, are reportedly planning to relocate back to Australia after enduring a tough year.”
Keith Urban Addresses The Rumors On The Kelly Clarkson Show
Keith recently visited the set of The Kelly Clarkson Show in New York City. During his visit, Kelly asked if the rumors are true that he and Nicole are moving back to Australia.
The “GO HOME W U” singer addressed the rumors directly, saying, “No, I read that too…it’s complete BS.”
He added, “Someone sent me that, and I’m like, ‘What?’ We were shocked…we’re not moving.”
Although they aren’t moving back to Australia, Keith and Nicole plan to spend Christmas “Down Under.” Because Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere, the seasons are reversed, so it’s summer there right now.
He said they go to the beach and barbecue on Christmas. “Imagine the 4th of July, but it’s Christmas,” he joked.
