Keith Urban played double-duty during the 56th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.

Urban co-hosted the award show alongside country star Mickey Guyton. In early March, Urban asked Guyton to join him as a host in an Instagram video. In the caption, Urban wrote:

“Thrilled to be back hosting the @acmawards for a second year!!! And you know I love a good collaboration….@mickeyguyton, what do you say?”

Along with hosting the show, Urban was three times nominated for Music Event of the Year for his collaboration “One Too Many” with fellow artist Pink! The pair released the song in September 2020, and the track reached No. 13 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs. He received a second nod as a producer for “One Too Many.” Additionally, Urban earned a third nomination for his collaboration on the song “Be A Light” with Thomas Rhett, Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott, and Chris Tomlin. The star-loaded song hit No. 7 on the Hot Country Charts.

Urban also performed his song “Tumbleweed” from his 2020 album The The Speed of Now Part 1. Urban made a smooth transition from host to performer by bringing his guitar to the stage.
