Released in August 2016 as the fourth single off of his Grammy-nominated album Ripcord, Keith Urban‘s “Blue Ain’t Your Color” took just a few months to top the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. It finally reached that coveted number one spot on November 19, 2016, and it remained in that same spot for 12 consecutive weeks.

The popularity of “Blue Ain’t Your Color” inspired numerous other artists to film covers of the song. Everyone from country a cappella group Home Free to Maren Morris pleased their fans with their takes on the tune.

As amazing as those videos were, no one has been able to match the success of Urban’s official music video for “Blue Ain’t Your Color.” Directed by Carter Smith, the music video was released in September 2016 and became an instant sensation.

Just a little over a year after its release, the video for “Blue Ain’t Your Color” is comfortably sitting at over 110,000 million views on YouTube. Those numbers make “Blue Ain’t Your Color” the most-viewed music video of Urban’s entire career.

The success Urban has experienced with “Blue Ain’t Your Color” is extraordinary. Thanks to the music video, Urban scored two big wins at the CMT Music Awards in June 2017: Video of the Year and Male Video of the Year.

Later, “Blue Ain’t Your Color” led to Urban being nominated in a number of categories at the 2017 CMA Awards. He ended up taking home the well-deserved trophy for Single of the Year!

As you can tell, “Blue Ain’t Your Color” is still all the rage long after its release! We have a feeling it’s going to be that way for quite some time!
