Some folks may cringe at the thought of sleeping in a covered wagon, but a campground in Kentucky has taken wagons to a whole new level of luxury. If early American settlers had these, they might not have wanted to traveled west.

The KOA at Horse Cave, Kentucky now features three Conestoga Wagons for campers to rent. Located just over an hour away from Louisville (where the Kentucky Derby is held), the Horse Cave area is a great getaway destination for its various attractions, including the fascinating Hidden River Cave. The campground offers RV spots and cabins for rent, but the new covered wagons offer a unique experience.

Each wagon has electricity, heat, and air conditioning. There is a bed, a bunk bed, small table and chair and other features that will make your stay very comfortable. A bath house is located right across from the wagons and each wagon has a designated area right outside your wagon to set up as you like.

I am beyond excited to open the new bath house. This is a 10 unit bathhouse with two having a ? for those moms with little ones.

As you can imagine, these wagons are already quite popular, so the campground is requiring a minimum two-night stay. They’re also offering a special rate of $119/night plus taxes through June 21, 2020. The rate will go up to $150/night plus taxes after that.
