On October 23, Luke Combs will release a deluxe edition of his #1 album, What You See Is What You Get. The deluxe edition will be titled What You See Ain’t Always What You Get, and will feature a batch of new songs.
Two of those songs, “Six Feet Apart” and “Without You,” have already been released. Other songs, including “Forever After All” and “Cold As You” have been shared by Combs before.
But on September 28, Combs previewed one of the brand-new songs featured on What You See Ain’t Always What You Get. The track is titled “The Other Guy.”
This new song is about a man who tries to pretend that everything is alright after losing the woman he loves. When he encounters this woman again he tries to play it cool, but confesses that “The Other Guy” inside of him is still heartbroken.
The short clip Combs shared of the song has him singing what seems to be the chorus, which goes:
“It might look like I’m doing alright
Yeah, it might look like I’m doing alright
But you should see the other guy.”
The video Combs posted of him singing “The Other Guy” is only 37 seconds long, but it’s long enough to give you an idea of how impactful the song is going to be. It’s sure to speak to anyone who has ever dealt with heartache and felt the need to put on a brave face to pretend like they’re doing fine.
Tune in below to see Combs’ preview of his new song “The Other Guy.” You’ll finally get to hear the whole thing when What You See Ain’t Always What You Get drops October 23!
