The young Grammy-winner couldn’t hold back the wave of emotion that hit her during a stop on her HERO Tour in Athens, Georgia.
Maren Morris rose to fame quickly after her hit single, “My Church” took off like wildfire on the charts and quickly gained steam in the country music community. As her song made the rounds and she performed it even more, fans simply fell in love with her!

Morris is the reigning CMA New Artist of the Year and recently was awarded her very first Grammy award for Best Country Solo Performance on “My Church” while also earning three other nominations this year! She’s been on the fast track to the top and just recently wrapped up opening for Keith Urban during his 2016 Ripcord World Tour – heading out on her own headlining tour last year!

Performing on one of the first dates for her new HERO Tour, Morris expressed her incredible gratitude for her fans, her ability to do what she loves, and the unimaginable success she has experienced and never dreamed of!
“I really, truly never thought, in my whole damn life, I’d be saying ‘I have a Grammy for this next song.’ This song has meant so much to me because it’s capturing in 3 minutes the enthusiasm in this room… I’m going to take you to church on this last one.”
The performance was a special one to Morris since she got to spend the time with her fellow country singer boyfriend, Ryan Hurd – and perform alongside him that night.

In the caption of a photo showing both their names on the Georgia Theatre marquee, Morris wrote, “I got you babe….Gonna miss seeing you play and trying to squeeze into a bus bunk together each night. Have fun opening for Thomas Rhett and chasing your dreams.”
As she kicked off her performance of “My Church” for the eager and excited crowd, they joined in with her – singing right along and growing louder throughout.
The emotion of it all and her fans honoring her by singing her beautiful song right along with her all became a little too much for Morris and she got choked up halfway through. Unable to finish the song, she wiped tears from her eyes as the crowd helped her finish it out.
