After a rehearsal concert at Joe’s Bar in Chicago on Tuesday night (January 24), Miranda Lambert is all set to kick off her Highway Vagabond Tour. The tour’s first show is on Thursday (January 26) in Evansville, Indiana, where she’ll be joined by opening acts Old Dominion and Aubrie Sellers.
Miranda was also joined by some special guests for her rehearsal concert. Much to her fans’ delight, she welcomed two of the most important men in her life to come up on stage with her at the end of her show.
Those two men were none other than her father, Richard, and her boyfriend, musician and singer Anderson East. Anderson has made appearances at some of Lambert’s concerts in the past, but this is the first time we’ve ever seen him share the stage with her dad as well!
After wrapping up her performance of her new song “Tin Man,” Miranda invited Richard and Anderson on stage and introduced them to the crowd. She also introduced a few of her friends, who joined them all in performing a medley of different songs.
The group opened up with country singer-songwriter Gwen Sebastian singing “Woke Up This Morning” solo. As Gwen sang, Miranda cuddled close to Anderson. The two didn’t shy away from showing PDA during the performance, and shared a series of affectionate glances and kisses.
Then the band picked up the pace, and Richard stepped up to the mic for his own chance in the spotlight. Now we can tell where Miranda got her singing talent from…Richard has quite the set of pipes!
Miranda joined her dad by singing harmony along with him. She also joined in every now and then with a “hallelujah” for added effect. It looks like father and daughter were having a blast singing together up there!
Eventually, the whole group started singing, showing off some pretty impressive harmonies in the process. In an adorable moment, Miranda led her dad to center stage so he could join her and Anderson. The trio sang together loud and proud, all while dancing and grooving along to the beat of the music.
As Miranda thanked the crowd and her band at the end of her performance, Richard and Anderson shared a friendly hug. Looks like Anderson has dad’s seal of approval!
