Nearly immediately after getting off the track this weekend, this NASCAR star got involved in a car accident as he and his team attempted to leave the racetrack.
After crossing the finish line and dominating during this weekend’s Xfinity Series race in Fontana, California, 24-year-old Kyle Larson took a massive sweep at the Auto Club 400 and topped off a great weekend.
Sadly, following the massive celebration for him and his team, the champagne toasts, and incredible adrenaline-pumping thrill of taking home the trophy, there was a bump in the road ahead after the young driver exited victory lane.
In a weird turn of events, and according to a tweet from Larson himself, he and several members of his team were leaving the Auto Club Speedway when they were involved in a car accident. Thankfully, nobody was hurt during the incident and from other reports of the accident, it sounds like it was a simple fender bender.
Got in a car accident leaving the track but thankfully our @TeamChevy Suburban kept us safe and nobody was injured! 👍🏼👍🏼

What a weird world for these drivers to live in where they can run at more than 200 mph on a track for hours on end with no incident, but once they enter the public roadway – they get into an accident!
We are thankful everyone was okay and their car sponsor, Team Chevy, made sure everyone was safe.
