Disney movies have produced their fair share of timeless songs, perhaps none more so than “Beauty and the Beast.” From the 1991 film of the same name, the song “Beauty and the Beast” went on to win both the Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Originally recorded by actress Angela Lansbury, who played Mrs. Potts in the film, “Beauty and the Beast” has been covered many times. One of the most well-known versions was performed by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson, which reached the Top 10 on the charts.
The song’s popularity perked up again following the release of the 2017 live action film based on Disney’s 1991 animated feature. That version of the song was performed by Ariana Grande and John Legend, and topped the U.S. Kids Digital Songs chart.
Believe it or not, there’s also a country version of the song out there. This version was recorded in 2014, and features two performers that hard core country fans are more than familiar with.
For years, Sam Palladio and Clare Bowen have been stealing our hearts as Gunnar Scott and Scarlett O’Connor on the television series Nashville. They’ve also been tearing up the charts, with a handful of hit duets under their belts such as “Fade Into You” and “If I Didn’t Know Better.” Now, prepare to fall in love with their version of “Beauty and the Beast.”
A bunch of red roses were scattered across the studio where Palladio and Bowen recorded their video for “Beauty and the Beast.” Adding further to the romantic nature of the whole thing, the two sat directly across from each other as they sang.
Bowen sounds just like an angel as her voice flows through the song with gentle ease. But just wait until Palladio joins in with her. The first note that they sing together is sure to give you goosebumps.
The two also did a great job at playing up the emotions in the song. The way that they look at each other is heart-melting all on its own!
This duet is sure to have you hooked from the start. Head down below so you can witness this breathtaking showcase of talent.
