In recent weeks, the southeastern United States has been grappling with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
The hurricane’s destructive path has been particularly severe in Western North Carolina, where relentless storms and severe flooding have torn communities apart.
The aftermath of this natural disaster has been heartbreaking. There have been over 200 lives lost, thousands of families left homeless, and countless individuals cut off from basic necessities. Even now, as the immediate danger has passed, the region faces significant challenges. Hundreds of thousands of residents remain without electricity, and many communities are isolated due to impassable roads, hindering recovery efforts.
