Viral sensation Oliver Anthony has sold out his latest show, with all the proceeds going towards Beacon Hill Church’s ministry.
Beacon Hill Church is in Hopewell, Virginia and since 2020, they have served free meals to their community every Friday for an event called “Free Food Friday.”
Oliver Anthony learned about Free Food Friday and immediately knew he wanted to help.
He could help serve food when he was in town, but he really wanted to help in a big way – by raising money for the outreach.
On Tuesday (March 26) Beacon Hill Church announced on Facebook at 10:58am that Anthony had reached out to them and asked if he could do a benefit concert with all proceeds being donated to Beacon Hill Church’s ministry!
The benefit concert will be held on Sunday, March 31st at 7pm at Beacon Theater in Hopewell, Virginia, a historic theater built in 1928 that seats 637 people. Tickets went on sale when the church’s post went live. Anthony also posted about it on his social media, writing,
“Every dollar earned through ticket sales and donations from this Easter Sunday’s show in Hopewell, VA will go toward Beacon Hill Church’s food outreach program. This church feeds around 400 Hopewell residents every week.”
By 3:47pm the same day, the show was sold out.
Beacon Hill Church simply shared a graphic of the show with the words “sold out” over the image to let the public know the good news.
According to The Progress-Index, tickets for the show ranged from $25-$35, so Anthony raised at least $15,925 for Beacon Hill Church already!
He took to his own social media to let his 1.9 million followers know the event was sold out. He also said, “For those unable to get tickets for the Easter Sunday show, I’ll be doing a Livestream of the concert on all the social platforms.”
Anthony rose to fame after his performance of his original song “Rich Men North Of Richmond” went completely viral. It was even brought up at a presidential debate!
He launched a world tour this year and is traveling all over the country and already did a stint in Europe. He also has been working on an album that is done, and fans can’t wait to get their hands on it.
As a reminder, tickets for the event are sold out, but you can still watch the concert on a free livestream on Oliver Anthony’s social media and donate to the church here.
