Riley Green Goes To Emergency Room After Injuring His Foot On A Hunting Trip

Country singer Riley Green recently found himself in the emergency room after suffering a painful injury.

The past year was busy for Green, marked by the release of his latest album on October 18. Over the weekend, he enjoyed some well-earned time off by partaking in one of his favorite hobbies, hunting. But the fun outing took a less-than-pleasant turn when the “Don’t Mind If I Do” singer stepped on a nail.

As Green detailed on his Instagram Stories, the nail pierced through his boot and punctured his foot.

While that sounds awful, Green seemed to have a good sense of humor about the whole situation. He couldn’t help but laugh after he removed his boot to show the doctor his injury, and a bunch of corn spilled out.

At the emergency room, ’cause I stepped on a nail, impaled my foot, and when I took my boot off, corn fell all over the floor,” Green said in a video on his Instagram Stories. “The lady came in here wanting to know where all the corn came from.”

A TikTok fan page for Green captured his Instagram Stories from the hospital and shared them in one complete video, which you can watch below.

What’s The Risk Associated With A Puncture Wound From A Nail?

While Green’s injury was seemingly minor, it’s a good thing he went to the emergency room. As the Mayo Clinic states, the greatest concern with such an injury is the risk of infection.

If you suffer a puncture wound caused by a metal object (like a nail), you’re advised to seek medical attention. If you haven’t had a tetanus shot in the past five years and if the wound is deep and/or dirty, a doctor may suggest getting a booster shot within 48 hours of sustaining the injury.

Thankfully, Green made a quick trip to the hospital and should be no worse for wear. His friend asked a member of Green’s medical team when he could resume hunting, and she said right away.

Knowing how much Green loves the outdoors, the “You Look Like You Love Me” singer was surely relieved to hear he could get back to hunting with no delay. He recently harvested a large buck on his new farm in Kansas and proudly shared the photos on social media.

It took a bunch of hours sittin in a tree with a bow but he finally slipped up. Damn I love it out here,” he said in a post on December 15.

We’re glad Green’s doing alright now and can get back to doing what he loves!
