Riley Green and Ella Langley recently released a brand-new duet, “Don’t Mind If I Do,” but Langley wasn’t originally supposed to be featured on it.
Country stars Riley Green and Ella Langley, who are both from Alabama, arguably had the best end-of-summer song with their popular “You Look Live You Love Me.”
The track, co-written with Aaron Raitiere, was released on August 5 and quickly gained popularity on country radio and social media. The official music video, released on August 28, echoes the style of classic Western films. Jamey Johnson even had a starring role in the video.

Following the success of their initial collaboration, Green and Langley released a new duet titled “Don’t Mind If I Do.” It is the title track for Green’s upcoming album, set to drop on October 18. Unlike the playful nature of their previous hit, this new song explores themes of nostalgia and rekindling a past romance.
At first, Green had not planned to keep Langley on “Don’t Mind If I Do.”
During their U.S. tour, he invited her to record a reference track. Her performance was so compelling that he decided to keep her on the official studio version.
During a recent interview with Holler, Green, who recently opened up a new sports bar in Nashville, explained:
“Obviously, Ella being on tour with us, that’s very organically how a lot of things happen. I was out with Luke Combs, and we ended up getting him on ‘Different ‘Round Here.’ So I wrote [‘Don’t Mind If I Do’], and I had it written as a duet. I just asked Ella to come by the studio and sing it to get a female’s vocal on it.”
After hearing the song with Langley on it, Green said he “didn’t think anybody could sing it better than she did.”
Langley revealed that she loved getting to work with Green.
“I’ve done a few duets at this point and some feature stuff, and really, for me, it’s the relationship, the connection. It’s somebody I want to create with, you know? It’s fun…On ‘Don’t Mind If I Do,’ he wrote that one by himself, and he just asked for me to come in the green room and see how a female sounded on it, just for fun. Then I think they loved it the way we did it – so they kept it on there!”
We sure are glad Green decided to keep Langley’s vocals on the song. It just wouldn’t be the same. Listen to “Don’t Mind If I Do” below!
