The next time the public saw Green was at the OU football game. He shared a touching photo of himself with a young boy named Xavier on the sidelines. In the caption, Green wrote, “I had a great time honoring the late @tobyKeith with Xavier from the @tkfoundation1 and @oklahoma.childrens at the @ou_football and @alabamafbl football game last night.”

Toby Keith was a lifelong OU Sooners fan and was often seen on the sidelines of the football field. The school has been honoring the iconic singer whenever possible. This won’t be the last, but see the sweet moment below.

Green introduced Toby Keith’s song “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” during a home game in which OU defeated Alabama 24-3. With the assistance of his new friend, Xavier, Green shared how Toby Keith inspired him.

As the song played, the stadium erupted with cheers, and fans sang along loudly. The track was accompanied by a fireworks show, perfectly enhancing the celebratory atmosphere in the stadium. Watch below.

In the caption of his Instagram post, the singer mentioned that he collaborated with OK Kids Korral, an Oklahoma-based charity founded by Toby Keith.

What Is OK Kids Korral?

The Ok Kids Korral serves the families of cancer patients, primarily focusing on children. Toby Keith sadly passed away from cancer in February 2024. However, that is not what people will remember most.

Keith created a legendary legacy in country music and established a charity that positively impacts lives every day.

On the foundation’s website, they describe their mission as follows, “Getting the right care sometimes means cancer patients must travel away from home, often to a cancer treatment facility in another city. This puts a financial and emotional toll on the families, not to mention the physical toll it takes on their child.”

The foundation’s solution to solve this problem is:

“OK Kids Korral helps make life a little easier for children with cancer by providing a safe, convenient, and hopeful place for families to connect with each other and focus on the well-being of their child. OK Kids Korral provides daytime and overnight lodging for pediatric patients and their families.”

While parents face many decisions about protecting their children and covering treatment costs, they no longer need to worry about housing expenses.
