Country heartthrob Sam Hunt heated up the 2018 CMT Awards with a performance of his latest single ”Downtown’s Dead.” Sporting a red cap and black tee, Hunt made his way through a bar, into an energetic crowd.

“As long as you’re still in my head / There ain’t no way that I can paint a ghost town red,” sings Hunt to the packed audience of his peers.
Last month Hunt made his highly anticipated return to music with the release of his infectious single, the tune keeping in step with Hunt’s past catchy songs. ”Downtown’s Dead” is the follow-up to Hunt’s history-making single ”Body Like a Back Road” which took country radio by storm back in the Summer of 2017.
The CMT Awards were hosted by Little Big Town Wednesday (June 6) with Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean leading the nominations.
