Scotty McCreery‘s past five singles have all reached the #1 spot on the Country Airplay chart. His most recent chart-topper is “Damn Strait,” which is both a heartbreak song and an ode to George Strait‘s music.
“Damn Strait” and Scotty’s previous #1 single, “You Time,” were both tracks on Scotty’s 2021 album, Same Truck. Now, Scotty is releasing his third single off of the album, titled “It Matters to Her.”
“It Matters to Her” was co-written by Scotty, Rhett Akins, and Lee Thomas Miller. The song is inspired by Scotty’s relationship with his wife of four years, Gabi. It seems fitting to release this song now, since the couple is expecting their first child, a boy.

Scotty explained the meaning behind “It Matters to Her” in a post on social media. He said:
“I wrote this song with Rhett Akins and Lee Thomas Miller because after four years of marriage to Gabi, I’ve learned a few things. This song sums up some of those lessons!“
Scotty and Gabi were dating for years before they married in 2018. So Scotty was drawing on a lot of past experience when he and his co-writers penned the lyrics for “It Matters to Her.”
Some of those lyrics include, “It matters to her. It stays on her mind. When you put her first, every single time.”
Scotty released a lyric video for “It Matters to Her” last year. The lyric video includes photos of him and Gabi spending time together. Watch the video below so you can hear the song.
We hope Scotty will release an official music video for “It Matters to Her” in the future. It’s such a sweet song.
