Shelton and Stefani were together about six years before finally tying the knot, and during that period, Shelton became close with Stefani’s three sons, Kingston, Apollo, and Zuma. The country singer took on the role of a bonus dad long before he said, “I do.”

In an interview with KFROG’s The Ride with Kimo & Heather, Shelton admitted while it was not easy being a stepdad, he always remembers to have fun with his role in their lives. The “God’s Country” singer stated:
“I take it very serious, but I also have a blast with it. I don’t take it so serious that I’m not enjoying this time because I really am, especially now that we’re five years into this thing. I can’t imagine my life without these kids now.”

For Father’s Day 2021, Stefani shared a collection of photos of Shelton with her three boys. In the caption, Stefani gushed:
