The Voice season 17 is well underway and the field of potential winners is getting smaller. Week after week we see tearful hopefuls sent packing, but there’s one contestant that appears to be planning to stick around.
Shane Q from Sacramento, California, came into the competition this year with his vocal guns blazing. He earned the first four-chair turn of the season with his showy “Tennessee Whiskey” cover during his Blind Audition. Shane ultimately chose to join Kelly Clarkson’s team after she predicted that he would be in the finale.
Shane’s Blind Audition currently has the most views of any audition this season, perhaps an indication of the level of love the public has for the soulful singer.

During Monday night’s Knockout round, Shane Q faced off against his Team Kelly teammate Kiara Brown, where only one of them would be left standing. Brown covered Maren Morris’ “The Bones” while Shane opted for Brett Young’s “In Case You Didn’t Know.”
Both artists delivered flawless performances, leaving coach Kelly in the difficult position of choosing who would advance to next week’s live shows. “The winner of this Knockout is someone I think who is just a little more ready than the other, right now,” Clarkson said. “And, the winner of this Knockout is Shane.”
Prior to appearing on The Voice, Shane told media that he is more ready now than ever to chase after his dreams. “I’m 29 years old. I know what I want to do. I found my style, my sound and I’m confident. This was the year that I was ready to make some moves if the opportunity came, opportunity came and I’m just doing my thing man.”
