Holding up handmade signs during concerts is a great way to get your favorite artists’ attention, especially if they’re unique. Well, one fan who attended a recent Lainey Wilson concert certainly proved that when his sign caught her eye and made her practically stop in her tracks.

Over the weekend, Lainey Wilson made a stop in Wilmington, North Carolina, for her Country’s Cool Again tour.

At many of her shows, it has become a tradition for Wilson to scan the crowd for signs made by fans. Some have been silly, like the time she helped a little girl win a bet against her father, while others have moved her to tears, such as a sign from a Hurricane Helene survivor during a show last week. However, one particular sign held up recently by a male concertgoer had Wilson laughing out loud.

Wilson was engaging with the crowd during the show when she began reading the man’s sign aloud. In the video, it’s clear that she didn’t realize what the sign said before she started reading it. The sign, which was the fan’s attempt to flirt with Wilson, read, “Lainey, you’re #1 on my list. My wife gave me a hall pass.”

Wilson didn’t even finish reading the sign before bursting into laughter.

“These signs y’all come up with. Y’all ain’t right,” Wilson joked.
