Next to the awards ceremony itself, the most anticipated part of the ACM Awards is the red carpet…or rather the “blue carpet.”
Artists and their significant others plan out their red carpet ensembles weeks in advance. They spend the days leading up to the ceremony getting final fittings to ensure that everything looks just right.
Then the big night comes, and they step out of their cars and are immediately met with flashing cameras. Within seconds, those tuning in to the red carpet or looking at photos can tell exactly who is the “best dressed” of the night.
Now that the ACM Awards are over, we’d like you to join us in admiring the stars we think were the ten best dressed this year. The reason we say “stars” instead of “artists” is because some singers’ significant others were the ones that ended up stealing the show!
What are you waiting for? Prepare to stop and stare at the 2018 ACM Awards‘ 11 best dressed stars by going through our list!
Luke and Caroline Bryan
Now that’s one hot couple!
Luke Bryan looked dashing as could be in a simple black suit. He opted not to wear a tie, and instead, left the top few buttons of his white undershirt undone.
As for Caroline, she brought the “red” to the blue carpet by donning a red gown for the occasion. With a plunging neckline and a long slit up the side, there’s no denying that her dress was one of the most daring of the night…and she rocked it!
Miranda Lambert
Red dresses were obviously a big hit at this year’s ACM Awards, and Miranda Lambert wore one of the most talked about red dresses of the night!
Miranda’s dress featured a long slit in the flowy skirt, and a dash of sparkle along the top, which was cut out in strips. She accented her look with pink shoes and a coordinating clutch.
She had many outfit changes over the course of the night, but it’s this dress that people will remember!
Danielle Bradbery
The Voice champion may not have won an ACM Award this year, but she still won the blue carpet!
Danielle Bradbery‘s blush-colored dress was sweet and girly as could be, with a full tulle bottom that was slightly lighter than the top. She accented her look with a playful clutch, which was sparkly and featured a pair of eyes on the front.
At another moment, Danielle revealed a secret to her ensemble…she was wearing tennis shoes! We can understand why she’d choose those, because heels can be a real pain.
Lauren Akins
Usually, Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren Akins are always photographed together at any red carpet event they attend. But at this year’s ACM Awards, Thomas stepped aside for a few moments to let Lauren have her moment in the spotlight.
We can see why, because Lauren looked absolutely gorgeous in her detailed white gown! She complemented her look with an elegant updo and a bright red lip, which tied everything together.
She looked lovely!
Scotty McCreery & Gabi Dugal
The soon to be married couple weren’t just one of the cutest duos on the ACM Awards carpet, they were also one of the best dressed!
Scotty McCreery wore one of the most unique suits of the night, and it definitely had us dazzled! The jacket featured a subtle metallic print, which glittered in shades of silver and gold. We’d say that’s a fitting jacket to wear in Las Vegas!
As for Gabi, she looked classy and elegant in her off the shoulder black gown. Maybe the next time we see a photo of her she’ll be in a wedding dress?
Hillary Scott
Just a couple of months after giving birth to twins, Lady Antebellum‘s Hillary Scott walked the blue carpet at the ACM Awards and conquered it.
Hillary took a slightly different approach to the red dress theme that seemed to be ruling the ACM Awards this year. Her gown was mostly white with some red floral detail, which was printed on multiple layers of ruffles.
She complemented her look with long, flowing waves and a vibrant red lip. Looking good Hillary!
Karen Fairchild
The Little Big Town singer may have worn something a bit more “out of this world” for her performance of Elton John‘s “Rocket Man,” but she kept it fairly simple for the blue carpet.
Karen Fairchild‘s outfit may look like a dress at first glance, but it’s actually a onesie with a sheer mesh skirt! She paid homage to old country style by donning a belt with a big rhinestone-studded buckle.
The other eye-popping aspect of her outfit? The bright pink clutch she carried!
Dierks Bentley
In a sea of black suits, Dierks Bentley stood out in his ensemble. You could say he was kind of following the red theme too, but his suit was definitely more burgundy.
His pants were slightly darker than his jacket, so they created a subtle difference that kept his whole outfit from blending too much. Like Luke Bryan, he also opted to go without a tie and left his undershirt unbuttoned at the top.
Looking fine Dierks!
Reba McEntire
What ACM best dressed list would be complete without mentioning the night’s fabulous host?
Reba McEntire embraced the Las Vegas vibe and channeled it through the dress she wore on the blue carpet. The white dress was covered in fringe, reminiscent of the outfits McEntire wears for her Vegas residency with Brooks & Dunn.
While her blue carpet look was undeniably beautiful, another one of McEntire’s outfits has even more people buzzing. During her duet on “Does He Love You” with Kelly Clarkson, McEntire stunned everyone watching when she walked out wearing her famous “red dress.”
If you recall, McEntire caused quite a scandal when she wore that red dress to perform the same song during the CMA Awards 25 years ago. It was that exact same dress that McEntire brought back to wear at the 2018 ACM Awards! Watch that performance below to get a full look at the dress.
