Taylor Swift Donates $100,000 To GoFundMe For Family Of Woman Killed At Super Bowl Celebration For Kansas City Chiefs
Variety confirmed that Taylor Swift donated to a fundraiser for the family of a Kansas City woman killed during the shooting at the Chiefs’ Super Bowl celebration.
On Wednesday (February 14) a shooting occurred at the conclusion of the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade. At least 22 people suffered injuries, while one person, Lisa Lopez-Galvan, lost her life.
A February 16 report from the Associated Press states police believe “a dispute” may have led to the shooting. As of press time, two juveniles are in custody and have been charged in relation to the shooting.
Chiefs players, including Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Drue Tranquill released statements about the tragedy.
Lisa Lopez-Galvan – A Beloved Radio DJ And Mother Of Two
Friends and family confirmed Lisa Lopez-Galvan was the person who lost her life in the shooting. Lopez-Galvan served as a DJ for the radio station KKFI, and hosted the Latin music program “Taste of Tejano.”
Additionally, Lopez-Galvan played at weddings, quinceañeras, and at an American Legion bar and grill. She also maintained an active presence in Kansas City’s Latino community.
Lopez-Galvan was married for 22 years and had two children. Her son, Marc Lopez-Galvan, was also among those injured in the shooting, Variety reports. He has been released from the hospital.

A GoFundMe page to help Lopez-Galvan’s family was established on Thursday (February 15). The fundraiser’s organizer, Rose Lopez Shaw, remembered her in a touching tribute.
“She was an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to so many. We ask that you continue to keep her family in your prayers as we grieve the loss of her life. This fund will help provide vital financial support to her family as they process this unthinkable tragedy. Any amount is appreciated.”
The fundraiser for Lopez-Galvan’s family caught Taylor Swift’s attention. Swift is dating the Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce.

She expressed her support for Lopez-Galvan’s family by making a large donation to the GoFundMe. She made two $50,000 donations, for a total of $100,000 donated.
The family had a goal to raise $75,000. As of press time (approximately 2 PM ET) the fundraiser has now raised nearly $270,000 total.
