The CMA Awards’ Busiest Artist, Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood easily may have been the busiest artist at the 2018 CMA Awards. In addition to being nominated for two awards, she also had to see to hosting duties.
For the 11th year in a row, Underwood co-hosted the show with fellow country superstar, Brad Paisley. Leading up to the awards, the two appeared in a series of promotional clips that focused on memorable moments from past ceremonies.

As if hosting and being on hand to possibly accept two awards wasn’t enough to keep her busy, Underwood was also given a performance slot during the show. Even before she stepped on stage to sing, country fans already knew that her performance would be a notable part of her history.
Carrie Has Come So Far In Just A Year’s Time
Just days after the CMA Awards in 2017, Underwood suffered a fall on the steps of her Tennessee home that left her with an injured wrist and facial injuries that required 40-50 stitches. She remained out of the spotlight while she recovered and also secretly coped with her struggles to expand her family.
Finally, she stepped out for the first time in months at the ACM Awards in April, where she performed what was then her newest single, “Cry Pretty.” She wowed yet again with another live performance of the song at the CMT Music Awards in June.

From that point forward, Underwood was able to come back stronger and better than ever.
She announced her second pregnancy, revealed her plans to embark on a major tour in 2019, was chosen as a CMT Artist of the Year, won a number of awards, and dropped a record-breaking album, also titled Cry Pretty.
The second single Underwood released, titled “Love Wins,” took country music by storm upon its release to radio in September. She released an official music video for the track, and also sang it during appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Standing in front of a screen that projected bursts of color, an emotional Underwood delivered a passionate performance of “Love Wins” to all watching. She got teary-eyed at the end as she held her hands high above her head in a heart for all to see.
To sum it all up, Underwood’s performance was something from out of this world. Once again, she created a memorable moment that fans will recall for a long time to come.
