One Of The Most Requested Flavors
Going into 2019, Blue Bell Ice Cream is giving us all a very special treat for the New Year! One of their most requested ice creams, the infamous Mardi Gras King Cake, will now be available in half-gallon sizes wherever Blue Bell is sold starting the week of January 1st.
Originally Limited To Certain Areas
While the flavor has become a fan-favorite nationwide, it was originally limited to only certain parts of the United States.
In a news release the corporate sales manager for Blue Bell, Carl Breed, said that “We have been making Mardi Gras King Cake since 2012, but the flavor has mostly been sold in areas known for the celebration such as Louisiana and Alabama. Last year a grocery store in Louisiana posted about the flavor’s arrival on its Facebook page and we started receiving requests from all over the country. After that, we decided to share this festive flavor with everyone in our distribution area.”
With the Mardi Gras holiday coming up in March, people have been rushing to the stores to make sure they are fully stocked before supplies run out.
Mouth-Watering Flavor
And after reading what the flavor actually is, we can’t blame them! The ice cream tastes like cinnamon cake with pastry pieces and colorful cream cheese swirls scattered throughout – all to be topped off with festive candy sprinkles. Need we say more…

Kid Tasted, Kid Approved
And just in case you were wondering how the taste tests have gone so far, YouTube blogger Cam The Man 07 tasted the Mardi Gras King Cake flavor with his little sister. They both agreed – it tasted pretty darn good!
But if you want to get in on all the Mardi Gras action, get moving because not only is Blue Bell’s hit flavor out for a limited time – it is also selling fast!
