Season 21 of The Voice ended on December 14, 2021. Team Kelly‘s Girl Named Tom was named the winner, making history as the first-ever trio to win the show.
Team Blake‘s Wendy Moten was the runner-up, while Team Blake’s Paris Winningham placed third.

Even though Season 21 just wrapped up, Voice fans are already looking forward to its next season. So when will Season 22 premiere?
Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little longer for the next season than they’ve grown used to. The Chairman of Entertainment Networks, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, Frances Berwick, announced in May 2021 that The Voice would only air one season per year moving forward after Season 21:
“Going into the 21st cycle in the fall, The Voice remains one of the most popular shows on television and we want to keep it that way,” Berwick said, as quoted by Deadline. “We want to eventize this iconic series. We think The Voice will be on NBC for a very long time to come and we believe the best way to protect the brand, while also superserving fans is to produce one amazing cycle this year.”
That means Season 22 of The Voice will not debut until nearly a year from now.
This is a drastic departure from how The Voice has done things for most of its run cycle. Other than its first season, The Voice has produced two seasons per year, with one airing in the spring and the other in the fall.
Since The Voice films blind auditions, battles, and knockouts in advance, two seasons often overlap. This also means we usually know the coaches for the next season before the current one ends.

But as of this writing, the coaches for Season 22 have not been announced. Since the new season won’t kick off for many months, the show has time to find new coaches if any member of its Season 21 lineup does not return.
Stay tuned to see who the Season 22 coaches will be and when the season will begin. In the meantime, enjoy all of the incredible performances from Season 21, including the one captured in the video below between winners Girl Named Tom and their coach Kelly Clarkson.
