Wynonna Judd’s 28-Year-Old Daughter, Grace Pauline Kelley, Was Arrested For The Third Time This Year
Country singer Wynonna Judd’s daughter, Grace Pauline Kelley, was arrested on October 27 after allegedly stealing a church van and trailer. This is the third time Kelley has been arrested this year (2024).
Born in 1996, Kelley is the youngest of Judd’s two children with her ex-husband, Arch Kelley III. The Country Music Hall of Famer also shares a son, Elijah (born in 1994), with Arch.
Kelley has experienced a few run-ins with the law over the years. Judd rarely comments on her daughter’s legal troubles, but briefly spoke about Kelley during an interview on John Rich’s show The Pursuit in 2020.
“My daughter is the strongest Judd woman in our ‘herstory,‘” said the “No One Else On Earth” singer. “She’s healthier than I was at 23. How she got there — I would not go that way, but I was also sequestered. I was on a bus with my mother. Kind of hard to get in trouble. So that could have been me, John, if I didn’t have music.”
Kelley was arrested on April 5, 2024, in Millbrook, Alabama, on two charges: indecent exposure and obstructing governmental operations. She was arrested again on August 3, 2024, in Carroll County, Georgia, on three misdemeanor counts.
Those counts included fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, driving with a suspended/revoked license, and using motorcycle equipment improperly.
Grace Kelley Is Accused Of Stealing A Church Van & Trailer In Virginia
Kelley was arrested for the third time this year on October 27 in Virginia. The Daily Progress, a local news outlet in Charlottesville, Virginia, published a report about her arrest on December 1.
According to the report from The Daily Progress, Grace “faces seven charges in Albemarle, including three felony counts of grand larceny” after allegedly stealing a church van and trailer from the property of Pastor Kent Hart.
Pastor Hart, who preaches at the Charlottesville-based Ground Zero Church of the Nazarene, told The Daily Progress he was in his kitchen when he noticed someone driving away in the church van. He chased after the driver (later identified as Kelley), who eventually stopped by the edge of a road.
The chase continued after Pastor Hart initially made contact. Albemarle police officer Corey Legg later initiated a traffic stop and arrested Grace. Officer Legg determined Kelley was the driver and only occupant of the van, which was damaged by the time of her arrest.
The church has started a GoFundMe to help raise funds for a replacement van.
Kelley was transported to the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail, where she remains held without bail. Her case will return to the Albemarle General District Court on January 2, 2025.
In addition to her legal troubles in Virginia, Kelley has pending cases in the states of Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee. The Daily Progress reports:
“…she’s been charged with aggravated assault, trespassing, violation of a no-contact order, manufacturing methamphetamine and multiple allegations of failure to appear and allegations of probation violations.”
Pastor Hart said his church devoted an entire service to Kelley and prayed for her family.
“On a personal level level, we forgive her,” he said. “If there’s ever an opportunity for us to be a part of her redemptive process in any way, we’re absolutely open to that.”
As of press time, Wynonna Judd has not released a statement about her daughter’s most recent arrest.
