Stefani last appeared as a coach on The Voice during Season 19. Nick Jonas filled her chair during Season 20, and Ariana Grande has taken his place for Season 21.
Even though Grande is new to the Voice family, she has strong feelings about Shelton and Stefani’s relationship. In an outtakes video from the Season 21 blind auditions, Grande can be heard saying what she really thinks about them being a couple.
The conversation started when Shelton asked Grande what her fans refer to themselves as. “Tiny Elephants” was one descriptor that came up, but Grande explained that’s an older term.
After having this discussion, Grande asked Shelton what his and Stefani’s couple name is:
“Shefani,” John Legend answered.
“Yeah I do hear that,” Shelton said with a chuckle.
“Shefani? Oh I love that,” Grande responded. She then made it clear she’s a big fan of Shelton and Stefani’s relationship, saying, “I stan Shefani.“
