On November 21, 2016, Blake Shelton took to Facebook Live to play a game with former Voice contestant RaeLynn. Blake served as RaeLynn’s coach during her time on The Voice, and the two have remained close. So no one expected anything unusual when the two started playing a random game with one another through Facebook.
But the game was all a lead-in to a major announcement. During the video, Blake announced his plans to go on tour in 2017! The announcement got even better when he revealed that RaeLynn would be touring with him as an opening act.
The Doing It To Country Songs Tour kicks off on February 16 in Bakersfield, California. The tour will take Blake and RaeLynn across the country, with stops in San Diego, Tacoma, and more.
It pretty much goes without saying that Blake’s tour is one of the most highly-anticipated country tours of 2017. It became especially more so after an announcement Blake made on Wednesday (January 11).
Blake upped the ante even more by making a major addition to his tour. Now, reigning Voice champion Sundance Head will be joining Blake and RaeLynn on the tour!
Like RaeLynn, Sundance was a member of Blake’s team during his time on The Voice. Blake has always been good about helping his former teammates get exposure, and this tour will be Sundance’s first big gig since winning The Voice.
In a press release, Sundance shared his excitement over having the opportunity to tour with Blake. “I’m just elated and really excited about being able to perform with a great entertainer and learn something from him while I’m on the road,” he said. “It’s going to be the most fun thing I’ve ever done.”
Blake is equally excited about having RaeLynn and Sundance on tour with him, and praised them both in his statement. “I’m excited to get back out on the road and bring new music from If I’m Honest, some previous hits and a few surprises,” Blake said. “Having RaeLynn on the tour again is terrific, and I’m thrilled Sundance is joining and bringing his incredible musical talents.”
We’re so happy for Sundance and this incredible oppertunity he has to tour with Blake! We hope that the two of them will perform a duet while they’re on tour, because they sound great together. It would be great if they reprised their duet of “Treat Her Right,” which is a song that Sundance’s father Roy recorded.
Tune in below to watch that show-stopping duet! Who else is anxious to snatch up some tickets for Blake’s tour now that Sundance will be tagging along for the ride?
