Full House star and comedian Bob Saget was found dead in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida on Sunday (January 9). He was 65 years old. According to the Orange County Sheriff, no signs of foul play or drug use were discovered.
“The cause and manner of death are pending further studies and investigation which may take up to 10-12 weeks to complete,” Orange and Osceola Counties chief medical examiner Joshua Stephany told Yahoo Entertainment in a statement.
Saget was in Florida on his I Don’t Do Negative comedy tour. Just hours before he died, Saget posted on social media about how much he was enjoying his tour after performing a two-hour set in Jacksonville.
“I’m back in comedy like I was when I was 26. I guess I’m finding my new voice and loving every moment of it,” he wrote.

Following Saget’s passing, his family released a statement to Us Weekly. The statement read:
“We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today. He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter.“
On Monday (January 10), Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, spoke about his passing in her own, emotional statement. She shared the statement with People. It read:
“My whole heart. Bob was my absolute everything. I am so completely shattered and in disbelief. I am so deeply touched by the outpouring of love and tribute from our friends, family, his fans and his peers.”
Rizzo continued:
“When the time is right and when this news is not as raw, I look forward to sharing more of Bob with the world. Sharing how much he meant to me, all of those around him, and how much all of his fans and friends meant to him as well. Thank you for respecting my privacy at this time.”
Saget and Rizzo married in 2018. They shared no children, though Saget had three daughters from his previous marriage.
The last video Rizzo shared of Saget was posted on December 29. At the end of 2021, many people looked back on the year by combining short clips from each month and setting it to “The Months of the Year” by the Kiboomers. Rizzo hopped in on the trend, and her video shows just how much fun she and Saget had together. You can watch it below.
