Meet Carrie & Mike’s Baby Boy

On January 23, Carrie Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, had the country music community going gaga when they announced they had welcomed their new baby on January 21.

Carrie gave birth to a boy they named Jacob Bryan Fisher, who joins his nearly four-year-old brother, Isaiah.

After Jacob’s birth, Carrie took to social media to share a few photos of the Fisher family’s newest addition. One photo was of just Jacob and Mike, another of just Carrie and Jacob, and the third showed Isaiah meeting his baby brother in the hospital.

Our hearts are full, our eyes are tired and our lives are forever changed. Life is good…” Carrie wrote.

Mike also shared a photo of Jacob, along with an emotional note about the struggles he and Carrie had gone through to welcome him into the world. Back in September, Carrie revealed that she had suffered three miscarriages between 2017 and 2018. Those times were tough on the Fishers, but at last, they finally welcomed their miracle baby.

We didn’t know if Izzy would ever have another sibling but we learned through it all that God is in control and his timing is perfect!” Mike wrote.

Chilling Conditions Sweep The Country

While Mike has posted a few things on Twitter since Jacob’s birth, Carrie had remained silent for days. At last, she broke her silence on Wednesday (January 30), and for a good reason.

Over the past few days, the Midwest U.S. has been dealing with a “polar vortex” that has been causing extremely low temperatures. A report from ABC 7 News out of Chicago states that temperatures at O’Hare Airport dropped to -21 degrees Fahrenheit on Thursday (January 31), setting a new record low in the area for January 31.

And that’s not even factoring in wind chill.

In fact, it was so cold that country singer Kacey Musgraves decided to reschedule her Wednesday night concert in Chicago over concerns for her fans’ safety. “My heart was aching thinking about anyone being put in danger trying to make it to the show tomorrow or stand in line,” she wrote. “Legit don’t even think our busses can operate in those conditions.”

Carrie Spreads The Word

People aren’t the only ones affected by the chill of the polar vortex. Due to the dangerously low temperatures, those who usually keep their cats and dogs outside have been encouraged to bring them inside for warmth.

Carrie was one of those people encouraging others to think about their fur babies. She broke her social media silence after welcoming Jacob with a friendly reminder to not forget about your pets.

While the temperatures in Nashville didn’t reach into the negatives, they were still cold. A tweet Carrie retweeted said the low was 11 degrees Fahrenheit.

It’s understandable why Carrie would take the time to make sure people don’t forget about their pets in this chilly weather. She’s a huge animal lover, and has not one, not two, but three fur babies of her own!

The Fisher Family’s Furry New Addition

Carrie has been a dog mom to pooches Ace and Penny for the longest time, but the Fishers recently welcomed a third furry addition to their family…and right before Jacob was born!

On January 19, Mike shared that they just got a new German Shepherd puppy. They let Isaiah choose his name, and he picked “Zero.”

I guess it fits because it’s the chance of surviving if you try to break into our home,” Mike wrote.

Knowing how much Mike and Carrie love their pets, we’re sure that Ace, Penny, and Zero are all out of the polar vortex and snuggled up inside where it’s safe and warm!

Unlike Kacey, Carrie won’t have to worry about winter weather ruining her tour plans. Her new tour kicks off in May, when spring weather should be in full swing.

You can watch her announce the tour in the video below, which is when she also revealed she was expecting baby Jacob!
