Now, Johnson has thrown his hat in the ring and shared his thoughts on the 2024 election.

Cody Johnson’s Passionate Speech

Johnson paused during his concert at the Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands to give an emboldened speech.

He opened his speech by asking everyone if they watched the news and encouraged them to stop watching. The crowd cheered at this sentiment, and he continued on to say, “If you wanna find out what’s going on in this country, go to church tomorrow morning.” The crowd absolutely erupted.

He then addressed the election:

“Last time we had a Presidential election in this country, they tried to divide us on race, they tried to divide us on religion, they tried to divide us on gender, they tried to divide us on what laws they were gonna pass, they even tried to divide us on vaccines and masks. The point of unity is being together no matter what you believe.”

The singer expressed his desire for unity and asked the crowd to stop letting the news divide them. He continued, “It’s okay to disagree … because before most of us were born, an American soldier died for our right to disagree in this country. That’s what makes unity so beautiful: sometimes, with unity, we disagree.”

Johnson ended his speech by saying: There’s three things we can agree on… they are this, they are red, white and blue!”

As he named each color, the corresponding color was flashed to the audience, creating quite an exciting and patriotic moment. The audience loved it!  Watch the whole speech below.
