It’s been a season jam-packed with controversy, but Dancing With the Stars has crowned a new champion!
Never EVER underestimate the power of the B Team! Country radio show host, best-selling author and Arkansas governor wannabe Bobby Bones took home the coveted mirrorball trophy Monday night Undoubtedly the show’s biggest ever underdog, Bobby fought his way through injuries and intense criticism to win the season 27 title.
During Monday’s live show, Bones and his professional dancing partner Sharna Burgess, went head to head against three other finalist couples: Alexis Ren and Alan Bernsten, Milo Manheim and Witney Carson, and Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe. The duos performed two dances…a new freestyle routine and their most memorable dance from the season. For Bones, that meant it was Hammer Time once again as he and Burgess brought back their “Can’t Touch This” routine from week 4.

Bobby Bones’ victory can be heavily attributed to his enormous fan base, new and old. Dubbed The B Team, Bobby’s fans voted in record numbers to help the radio personality overcome low judges scores and surpass his competitors week after week. Bones admittedly is “clueless” about dance and has been at a disadvantage all season due to his lack of experience. But, the obstacles only drove him to work harder.
“Of everyone left, I’m the only one without any real years of training,” Bobby told Good Housekeeping prior to the finale. “But I feel like that’s been my disadvantage all year and we found ways to capitalize on other parts, you know, creatively.”
Some of country music’s biggest stars took to social media Monday night to congratulate Bones on his unexpected win.
