Following a horrifying ATV accident that left her 8-year-old daughter trapped underwater and stuck inside the roll cage of the vehicle, the entire Spears family’s prayers were answered after doctors announced she was expected to make a full recovery.

On February 5th 2017, the young daughter of rising country star Jamie Lynn Spears, and niece of pop superstar Britney Spears, was riding her Polaris off-road vehicle around her family’s farm when she lost control of the vehicle and plunged into a nearby pond. Belted into the vehicle’s safety harness and surrounded by the protective roll cage, Maddie was submerged in the pond after the ATV rolled over in the water. She was estimated to have been submerged for a full two minutes or more.
Maddie was then transported to the nearby hospital with serious injuries, but later listed as being in “critical but stable condition”.
After several days at the hospital, doctors gave the news that the family had been waiting for: Maddie was expected to make a full recovery. In light of that miraculous news, Jamie Lynn issued a statement of overwhelming gratitude.
“Thanks to the amazing first responders, and medical teams at University and Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, LA, we are headed home with our baby girl as she continues to recover. Above all else we are so thankful for each and every prayer, because we know that is what truly made the difference. Thank you again to everyone. We are truly blessed…”
In addition to her mom speaking up about the family’s gratitude and the answered prayers of thousands of folks worried for the child, Maddie’s grandmother, Lynn, and aunt, Britney Spears also send out their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of those who kept their beloved Maddie in their thoughts during the ordeal.
Now, Maddie is home and recuperating from the scary accident, but doctor’s haven’t given her the full green light to resume normal activities. In light of that, she did get a very welcomed present for Valentine’s Day which Jamie Lynn shared with all her fans!
In one of the first photos of little Maddie since the accident, Jamie Lynn shows her holding up some large candy bar Valentine’s Day treats and reveals that she was able to get out of the house for a few to pass them out at school – an event that Maddie clearly enjoyed!
We are so thankful that Maddie is doing much better since the accident and it’s amazing to see her out so quickly with a huge smile on her face!
