The Divorce Battle Between Kevin Costner & Christine Baumgartner Continues

On May 1, Kevin Costner’s wife Christine Baumgartner filed for divorce. The couple was married for 18 years and share three children: Cayden (age 16), Hayes (age 14), and Grace (age 13).

Kevin’s representative shared a statement with PEOPLE after Christine filed for divorce:

It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action. We ask that his, Christine’s, and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time.”

Since then, court documents have shown Kevin and Christine’s disputes over funds and their home in Santa Barbara.

Christine Baumgartner Requests $248K Per Month In Child Support

Court documents obtained by PEOPLE show that Costner agreed to pay $38,000 per month in child support in addition to 100% of the kids’ school tuition, activities, and health care.

Costner also agreed to contribute $30,000 per month toward a rental home for Christine.

According to documents obtained by PEOPLE, Christine is requesting a higher amount in child support. She asked for $248,000 per month. Christine claimed this “is less than the amount needed to maintain the children in their accustomed lifestyle.”

In addition to the $248K, Christine asked for Kevin to pay for 100% of the children’s school tuition, activities, and health care.

Kevin Costner Makes Claims Against His Estranged Wife As Child Support Battle Continues

PEOPLE obtained new documents Kevin filed on Wednesday (June 28). He addressed Christine’s child support request, calling it “highly inflated and unsubstantiated.”

Kevin claimed:

“Christine allocates 60% of expenses such as private trainer, unallocated credit-card expenses, and her plastic surgery to the minor children without any explanation or basis. The children do not use the services of private trainers, only Christine does.”

Kevin added, “Christine should know which credit-card expenses were for her and which were for the children, but not even a minimal effort is made to allocate them accurately.”

The Yellowstone star also alleged that Christine spends $188,500 per month on plastic surgery.…the plastic surgery expenses of $188,500/month belong to Christine – not the children,” his documents read.

Kevin continued, “Providing the minor children with more than bare necessities does not require providing ludicrous extravagance designed to primarily benefit the supported parent.”
