The Latest Developments In The Yellowstone Saga
Yellowstone‘s fifth season took a break following its midseason finale in January. New episodes were supposed to start airing in the summer.
However, over the months, it became clear that a summer release would not be possible. Yellowstone fans’ worries grew as reports surfaced about conflicts behind the scenes of the show.
Whenever asked what was going on, most cast members didn’t have much to say. Many were clueless as to when the show would resume filming or when new episodes would be released.

Until recently, any reports published about Yellowstone‘s fate and future were unconfirmed and based on unnamed sources. But on May 5, Paramount released an announcement about the show that contained some good news, and some bad.
Starting With The Good News
On the good side of things, Paramount shared when Yellowstone‘s fifth season will resume. It will not be back in the summer as originally announced. Instead, Paramount stated the fifth season will pick back up in November.
More good news…Yellowstone is getting a sequel! Paramount shared this new sequel is expected to debut in December.
“‘Yellowstone’ has been the cornerstone on which we have launched an entire universe of global hits,” said Chris McCarthy, the CEO of MTV Entertainment Studios. “I am confident our ‘Yellowstone’ sequel will be another big hit.”
But unfortunately, the announcement about the new sequel is connected to some bad news Paramount had to share.
The Bad News Is…
Paramount also announced that Yellowstone‘s fifth season will be its last.
“Love and family and serve your tribe, your people — that’s a huge theme in the show. With Kayce, he has a hard time choosing his relationship with his father versus his relationship with his wife and son. I think it’s because it all really matters and it matters to all of the characters.”
Grimes added, “There’s no right team or wrong team, it’s just a bunch of people trying to figure out how to do what’s best for their own.”
We’re anxious to see how Yellowstone will end and where the new sequel will pick up. We’ll be sure to keep y’all in the loop with the latest news about the two shows.
