After weeks of hard work on Dancing with the Stars, Lauren Alaina and her professional partner Gleb Savchenko can call themselves finalists!

The Season 28 semifinals were held on Monday night (November 18), during which each couple danced two routines. Alaina’s first dance of the night was her “redemption dance,” a Paso Doble set to Kelly Clarkson‘s “Stronger.”

Alaina earned a score of 27 for that dance. She certainly got her redemption, since the Paso Doble she danced during Week 2 only earned a score of 19.

Later in the night, Alaina danced a Viennese waltz to Tim McGraw‘s “Humble and Kind.” She also earned a score of 27 for that dance, and McGraw praised the routine on social media.

McGraw and a number of other country stars campaigned for Alaina throughout the night, encouraging people to vote for her and send her to the finale.

With two 27s under her belt and the support of the country music community behind her, Alaina seemed to be in a good spot when voting closed late on Monday night.

The five semifinalists gathered on stage to hear their fate. Three contestants were announced as “safe” right away, meaning their scores and votes were enough to keep them out of jeopardy.

Kel Mitchell and Hannah Brown were first named as the “safe” celebrities. Then, it was announced that Alaina was safe as well, and she was shocked to say the least!

Turning around in disbelief, Alaina exclaimed “What?” before excitedly hugging Savchenko.

Ally Brooke and James Van Der Beek were left in jeopardy, and the judges had to choose who to save. They voted for Brooke, but in a show of kindness, she tried to let Van Der Beek take her spot in the finale instead.

You can watch that emotional moment and the moment when Alaina was announced as “safe” in the video below. Congratulations to all of the DWTS finalists!
