Miranda Lambert Tells Bunnie Xo About Her Love Story
Miranda Lambert says she and her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, were pen pals before they married in January 2019. Miranda shared this sweet piece of their relationship’s history during a recent conversation on Bunnie Xo’s Dumb Blonde podcast.
Bunnie was curious to know more about Miranda and Brendan’s love story. Miranda happily dove into how she and Brendan met, sharing how they “crossed paths” when she came to New York City to appear on Good Morning America.

Brendan, a former NYPD officer, worked around the GMA set that day. Miranda’s Pistol Annies bandmate, Angaleena Presley, spotted him and pointed him out to Miranda, saying, “There’s a cop over there. He’s hot. Hot cop, everyone, hot cop!”
Miranda says she initially didn’t pay much attention to Brendan because she was tired after waking up early for GMA. But her security team had some connections, and they invited Brendan to the Pistol Annies’ show that evening.
Brendan and Miranda met up after the concert and “hung out and talked.” Miranda recalls immediately thinking that Brendan “was super cool.”
Miranda Lambert & Her Husband Brendan Were Pen Pals Before They Said “I Do”
The couple kept in touch after their first meeting, with Miranda saying, “…we wrote each other literal letters, like old-school.”
She recalls asking, “I was like, ‘do you want to be pen pals?‘” That prompted a confused response from Brendan, who asked, “Like write letters with a pen?”
Laughing, Miranda said, “He’s eight years younger, so that was like, really mind-blowing to him.“
Miranda and Brendan’s pen-pal relationship quickly became something more. They married in a secret ceremony in Tennessee on January 26, 2019.
The couple announced their marriage a few weeks later, on February 16, 2019.

Since then, Miranda and Brendan have enjoyed attending awards shows together, going on long trips, and spending time at home with their pets. Brendan also played Miranda’s love interest in her whimsical music video for “Settling Down.”
