New Photo Of Sam Elliott’s ‘Y:1883’ Character Surfaces

Yellowstone fans are eagerly awaiting Season 4 as well as the show’s prequel, Y:1883. Recently the cast was announced for Y:1883 with Sam Elliott taking on a key role for the upcoming show.

Elliott’s character is Shea Brannon, a tough cowboy with immense sadness in his past. He has the monumental task of guiding the group from Texas to Montana. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will portray James and Margaret Dutton, the patriarch and matriarch of the Dutton family.

In the show, Elliott has a right-hand man who helps him and is played by none other than LaMonica Garrett. While filming in Granbury, Texas. Both Elliott and Garrett were spotted in their characters’ costumes. Garrett shared a behind-the-scenes photo of the two of them on his Instagram page.

“Filming #1883 in Granbury the other day, we were met by a sea of people/cameras. Saw this #bts pic online, thought I’d share,” he captioned the photo.

Y:1883 follows the early members of the Dutton family as they journey west through the hostile territory of the Great Plains towards Montana.

The Yellowstone prequel is set to premiere Sunday, December 19, 2021.
