On the TV show Reba, Reba McEntire plays a mom to three children. But in real life, Reba only has one child, son Shelby Blackstock.
Shelby was born on February 23, 1990 to Reba and her then-husband Narvel Blackstock.

The 29-year-old followed a different path than his musical mother, and is now a race car driver.
While speaking on the Rachel Ray Show, Reba recalled the first time she ever watched Shelby race:
“They drop that green flag and here they are, coming around. I was sitting there, filming him. All I could see was his car, and then underneath his helmet was this little bitty baby face. It just broke my heart,” she said.
Reba told Rachel she “was about to pass out” watching that first race. But after she took a second to breathe, she was able to finish watching.
Now, Reba turns out to support Shelby at his races whenever she can. In turn, he tries to attend as many of her events as he can.
So when Reba served as a guest co-host and performer at this year’s CMA Awards, Shelby was there.
Shelby and his girlfriend, Marissa, both came to the CMA Awards and got the chance to spend some time with Reba backstage. The trio took a few pictures, and Shelby shared those pictures on his Instagram.
He also shared some praise for his mama, and complimented her work on the CMA Awards this year. “…mom did great as always!” he wrote.

Shelby included a series of hashtags on his post, writing that he was one “#proudson” and that his mom “#killedit” with her performance of “Fancy.”
During that performance, Reba changed costumes not once, but twice. She started off in a purple, robe-like garment which she removed to reveal a red dress. Later in the performance, she took off the skirt of the dress to uncover a glittery jumpsuit underneath.
