Country crooner Brett Eldredge and Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson set the internet on fire after the two starred in the singer’s music video for “The Long Way.” Their on-screen chemistry was undeniable and fans were speculating for months that the two were in a romantic relationship.
In an interview with ET, Sadie set the record straight about her bond with Eldredge and shared her feelings about the singer. When asked about Brett, Sadie responded, “We had the most fun that day. We just goofed off. He’s a goober. He is hilarious,” she said of the day the two shot the music video. “That just started our friendship that will hopefully last a long time. He’s the best guy ever.”
Robertson got a little embarrassed and slightly giddy while discussing whether the two were dating. “Everybody thinks we’re dating. He’s the best. We just had so much fun together,” Sadie said laughing. “It’s too complicated.”
She then reiterated that their relationship is just that of good friends.
The 20-year old also revealed that she was hesitant to accept the role when Eldredge first asked her.
“I was like, well…it’s a country music video and sometimes they can be a little risque,” Robertson said. But, Eldredge assured Sadie that he simply wanted the video to tell a sweet love story and wanted her to play the role of someone a guy “could bring home to momma.” Sadie gladly accepted Brett’s invitation and the result was one of the hottest country music video of the last year.

Shortly after her interview with ET, Robertson announced that she was in a relationship with Disney Channel star Austin North. Their relationship was short lived and Sadie is single once again, leaving fans hoping that her friendship with Brett Eldredge might turn into something more!
