Scotty McCreery Asks Fans To Pray For Alabama’s Randy Owen

Alabama’s frontman, Randy Owen, is mourning the recent passing of his mother, Martha. According to a statement released on Alabama‘s social media pages, Martha died on Thursday (June 2) at the age of 90.

Randy’s mother, Martha Owen, left for heaven this morning,” the statement read. “We will miss her greatly but we rejoice in knowing she’s now walking in very High, High Cotton.”

Alabama was supposed to perform in Roanoke, Virginia on Friday (June 3) and in Fayetteville, North Carolina on Saturday (June 4). Those concerts have now been postponed.

The Roanoke concert was rescheduled for December 9, while the Fayetteville show was moved to December 11. Alabama stated that all previously purchased tickets will be accepted on the rescheduled dates.

Scotty McCreery was going to perform with Alabama at their Roanoke show. He took to social media to let his fans know about the postponement, and asked everyone to pray for Randy.

My heart breaks for Randy Owen of Alabama whose mother passed away this morning. Please keep him and his family in your prayers,” Scotty said.

Scotty’s fans took to the comments section of his post to share their condolences and prayers for Randy. We too, join them all in sending our sympathies to Randy and his family.
