NASH Country Weekly readers may have voted Scotty McCreery as “Country Music’s Hottest Bachelor” of 2016, but his heart is already taken by a special lady in his life.
For the longest time, McCreery stayed mum when it came to talking about his lady love, and didn’t share her name with anyone since she isn’t a public figure. But his fans eventually figured out that McCreery seemed awfully close to a girl named Gabi Dugal, and McCreery later confirmed that they are an item.
McCreery and Dugal have known one another since they were in kindergarten, and remained friends all throughout their time in school. The two stayed close even after McCreery won American Idol in 2011, and soon afterwards their friendship turned into romance.
Now, McCreery and Dugal have been dating for four and a half years, and she’s actually appeared in his music videos for “The Trouble with Girls” and “Feelin’ It.” The two of them both have adventurous spirits, and often participate in outdoor activities together. Recently, the young couple enjoying a hiking trip and went swimming around Elk River Falls in their home state of North Carolina.
During an interview with AXS at iPlay America, McCreery answered a series of fan questions, including one about his special gal. As he gushed about Dugal, it became clear just how much he cares about her.
“There is a special young lady in my life,” he said. “I’ve known her since kindergarten. Her name is Gabi. We’ve known each other our whole lives, but we’ve only been dating for about four and a half years. I’m a lucky guy.”
